North Shore early Parkinson’s seminar well attended

Seminar on early Parkinson’s was well attended at the North Shore/Rodney Tulip Group.

The North Shore/Rodney Parkinson’s Tulip Group, invited me to talk about my research on early Parkinson’s and why poetry is my new passion.

We talked about the unique challenges of early-onset Parkinson’s which impacts people under 50, often while they’re raising families, building careers, and living full and complex lives.

We also talked about how poetry can challenge medical stereotypes. I shared our packs of poetry cards which are available for use without charge for group work at Parkinson’s related events. The poem cards act as conversation starters to get people talking about what life with early-onset Parkinson’s is really like.
